i do a lot of writing on the fly so having even just the focus mode on my phone would be game-changing.

Thanks for the feedback! We’re definitely working towards a mobile version, but it’s a little way off :)

Love this idea and understand it takes time! An idea if possible to be able to access just your notes on your phone. I find myself frequently having an idea when I am away from my computer and just have to text myself. Would love to just make or edit a note right on my phone.

Even being able to open the web app on my phone browser would be great. Currently, whatever browser/settings I use, the website tells me to open it on a desktop computer, which sucks. It means I have to write in a separate app on my phone and then transfer my work, and I’m not able to go back and reference what I’ve written previously.

    Mobile App

I love using this on my computer, but there are so many times I get an idea or have the time to write but can’t get to a laptop to do it. I would love a phone app since it doesn’t work in the browser!

    Mobile App

I know I seen at least one other request for this, just know, I dont mean this to overwhelm or anything like that. I just got this for my current manuscript and I'M IN LOVE!!! But unfortunately until I'm actually a published author (hopefully able to go full time) I have to keep my current job. I would love to be able to write on the go, at work, at families and not have to take my laptop or PC. While I'll mostly write on those an option for mobile would be so nice!!! I understand if couldn't flow exactly the same way but if its possible it would be a game changer for so many people! Much love and thank you for creating this amazing app!

    Use on Tablet

I really want to use First Draft Pro but I have limited access to a desktop, but I always have my tablet as an alternative to a laptop. Any idea when it may be accessible via tablet/app?

Hi! I’m another FDP user! I usually use a computer, but I’ve found that it will run on my iPad via a web browser — but you have to turn it landscape. I hope that works for you!!

@Holly Hayward This week we released an update that helps with usability on an iPad (via a web browser in landscape mode as Breanna mentioned!)

There are some additional tweaks we are still working on making to make this user experience nicer though, so I’ll keep you updated on our progress.

One way to do this, since you already have the web app, may be to consider something like Electron:

      https://www.electronjs.org/

I never got around to trying it but I was very impressed with the windows app version of Foundry (the RPG VTT software haha). It worked just like the site but ran locally on machine. Super cool.

Add phone app or other mobile option

I can't access First Draft Pro on my phone. It says to use a desktop but when I set my phone on desktop mode, the page goes white.

As someone who ideas mostly away from my computer and often gets locked in a doom scroll, this would be an incredible feature even to beta test.

Yes — even if just to read it without editing. Rereading what I’ve written on the go is so important to my process!
